Agents from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Benin Zonal Command have taken Irabor Kennedy Osasogie into custody on the basis of fraud suspicion.
The German citizen Antje filed a petition with the Commission, alleging that the suspect robbed her of €17,000; the Commission recently detained the 21-year-old in response.
The petitioner asserted that Osasogie was someone she met online after being duped out of $68,000 by Michael Patrick. She claimed Osasogie promised to help her get the money back but instead stole $17,000 from her.
When the suspect was taken into custody, he claimed the petitioner had only given him €12,850.
A charge against the suspect will be filed in court as soon as the investigation is finished.
