Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere, the spokesperson for the Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP), and Chinasa Nwaneri, the special adviser on special duties to Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma, have allegedly engaged in a conversation on audio that has been made public by Sahara Reporters.
Chinasa allegedly threatened to jail Ugochinyere in the recording SaharaReporters posted on Twitter on Friday.
According to reports, the governor’s advisor for Imo State said, “Ugochinyere, I will imprison you. What I want to achieve is just to imprison you. That is what I want to achieve. You are lucky that you did not go to Owerri that day. I will imprison you and you will see it.”
“Ugochinyere, I want to achieve it. I want to imprison you. I have never mentioned your name in a bad corner but you decided to go and call me a criminal. If I did not imprison you, I will harm myself.”
When the CUPP spokesman questioned Chinasa if he was acting on behalf of his boss, he replied, “Ugochinyere, I want to achieve it. I want to imprison you. I have never mentioned your name in a bad corner but you decided to go and call me a criminal. If I did not imprison you, I will harm myself.”
Ugochinyere responded to Chinasa’s declaration by stating, “Chinasa, you and Hope Uzodinma are not God, so don’t even bother boasting about what you can do and not.”
Chinasa interrupted, saying, “Ugochinyere, if I do not imprison you, I will harm myself. If you are coming to Owerri tomorrow, I’m waiting for you. I have an expecting charge here with you.
“If I don’t imprison you, I will not be free. You Ugochinyere; I’m waiting for you. It has started. You don’t need a visa to come to Owerri but when you come there, I will imprison you.”
The Special Adviser to the Governor of Imo State was warned by Ugochinyere to stop calling and threatening him. Chinasa replied, “Nigerians are used to this your empty vessel attack. You look too small for me to threaten. Why do you say that I am threatening you? As what? Do I want to go and occupy your position?
“You are just a little rat. Look at a monkey that I’m threatening. Monkey.”
Concerning a purported endeavor by certain politicians to blame him for terrorist activity, rape, and murder, the CUPP spokesman had raised worry.
The governor’s ward in Omuma, Imo State, where there has allegedly been voter registration fraud, was the target of the plot to kidnap and falsely accuse him, according to the man.
Ugochinyere had been served with a criminal summons by Chinasa, and the Abuja High Court had issued a restraining order and delayed the magistrate court’s proceedings.
Chinasa has issued criminal summonses in response to claims that the All Progressives Congress (APC) perpetrated voter registration fraud in 18 states, including Imo.
Justice Hassan M. A. Hassan delayed further action in the case to enable for the hearing of Ugochinyere’s request for judicial review.
