A planned gay wedding at a well-known event venue in Kano Metropolitan has been thwarted by the Kano State Hisbah Board.
This was confirmed in a statement sent to newsmen by the commander of the Hisbah Board, General Sheikh Haruna Ibn Sina.
He said that Abba and Mujahid, who were listed as the bride and groom, were the intended couple.
Ibn Sina explained that the Hisba guards broke up the marriage in response to a tipoff from helpful bystanders.
He claimed that 19 young people who had gathered to watch the marriage of two alleged homosexuals had been detained.
“Fifteen women and four males who were at the center to serve as witnesses for the planned same-sex marriage were arrested.”
Ibn Sina claimed that as soon as the Hisbah employees arrived at the wedding place, the couple identified as the bride and groom, Abba and Mujahid, fled.
He stated that the board is attempting to have the pair and other attendees of the event arrested.
The Hisba commander stated that the police will receive the detained suspects for additional investigation.
