Timipre Sylva, Minister of State for Petroleum, will have the title “Sarkin Kudun Hausa” turbaned on by the Daura Emirate Council.
The Daura Emir, HRH Umar Farouk Umar, presented the honor.
Garba Shehu, the president’s spokeswoman, responded to the news on Friday. President Muhammadu Buhari is a native of Daura in Katsina State.
Shehu claimed that Sylva’s “versatile and cross-cultural experiences, schooling, employment, and sharing wisdom in many parts of the country, and the world,” are recognized by the title.
Sylva’s acceptance, in Buhari’s opinion, emphasizes the necessity for religious and cultural tolerance, networking, and understanding in order to maintain the country’s unity.
The Nigerian leader appreciates the Daura Emirate Council for their support for his administration.
“President Buhari prays for the well-being of the Minister and his family”,
The statement added.
