Nigerian culinary sensation, Hilda Baci, shares her challenging journey of enduring the longest solo cooking marathon.
Originally aiming to surpass the existing Guinness World Record held by Indian chef Lata Tandon, who cooked for 87 hours and 45 minutes in 2019, Hilda set her sights on a remarkable 96-hour feat. However, she exceeded all expectations by setting a new record of 100 hours and 40 minutes.
Commencing on Thursday, May 11, 2023, and concluding late on Monday night, May 15, the cook-a-thon witnessed Hilda skillfully prepare over 200 delectable meals, delighting a vibrant and supportive audience who had gathered to cheer her on.
In an interview with Pulse, Hilda expressed her gratitude for the overwhelming love and support she received from numerous Nigerians. She revealed that the initial six hours of the grueling cooking marathon proved to be the most challenging, leading her to seek strength through prayer.
