Iyanya, a well-known artist from Nigeria, has revealed something shocking about himself.
The performer admitted that in 2021, he literally had to ask for permission to take the stage at some events simply to be seen.
Iyanya once held a prominent position in the entertainment industry in Nigeria, having produced smash-hits like Kukere and Sexy Mama. But following a fight with his labelmate and buddy Ubi Franklin, his star began to fade.
He experienced periods of obscurity over the years while other superstars overshadowed him. Iyanya now asserts that he only appeared at three performances in 2021.
Even to appear in two of those shows, he had to beg.
He said, however, also admit that things have subsequently changed for him because he now awakens each day to show alerts. He noted that since 2017, he hasn’t experienced a December this hectic.
