Governor Ahmadu Fintiri’s yearly budget for the fiscal year 2023 has been approved by the Adamawa State House of Assembly at N175 billion.
On Wednesday, the Assembly approved the amount as before recommended by Governor Fintiri.
recalls that on November 25 of last month, Fintiri submitted a total of N175,019,054,060 for the legislature’s approval.
The appropriation measure had previously been referred to the Committee on Finance, Budget and Appropriations by the Assembly during a recent plenary session presided over by the Speaker, Aminu Iya Abbas.
After Ministries, Departments, and Agencies finished defending what was allocated to them, the Committee, led by Hamidu Sajo (Yola-North), presented its report to the Assembly.
Hon. Japhet Kefas (Gombi), the Majority Leader, moved for the Assembly to dissolve into the committee of the whole for discussion after Hon. Lekki delivered the report.
He also moved that the report be read a third time; Haruna Jilantikiri (Madagali) seconded the motion, and it was approved.
Following that, the meeting was overseen by the Deputy Speaker, Pwamwakeno Mackondo, who gave the Clerk of the Assembly the order to inform Governor Fintiri of the Assembly’s decision in preparation for his anticipated signing into law.
