Following the termination of his personal chef’s employment because she “ditched” him in Vegas to attend to a family emergency, American rapper and songwriter Lil Wayne has been forced to appear in court.
Despite being subjected to numerous illegal activities while working for the rapper, Morghan Medlock claimed in the complaint she filed against him that she was fired unfairly and as retaliation.
For the Memorial Day weekend, Medlock traveled to Vegas with the rapper, but she eventually left to go help her hurt kid.
In the complaint, the chef who said she has been preparing Lil Wayne’s meals for two years claimed she was informed of a head injury her 10-year-old had had that required hospitalization.
She insisted that she needed to return to Los Angeles right away but that the flight was being ruined by Wayne and his friends smoking on board.
Medlock claims that rather than waiting around for them to get their act together, she sped off on a different flight, informed Wayne’s assistant about the issue, and thought they would comprehend. But she was let go.
After she left, Wayne’s crew began asking Medlock if she was quitting, to which, according to Medlock, she said emphatically, “No.” Medlock claimed that once her son received treatment, she attempted to resume her duties as head chef but was met with a cold shoulder.
According to TMZ, Medlock said that someone on Wayne’s crew texted her a snide goodbye before she was formally informed that she was being fired and given the advice, “Tell Chef Morghan this isn’t going to work,” by Wayne.
She claims that being terminated for being absent from work to take care of an ill or injured child is against California law.
For the injustice, Medlock now demands that Wayne pay her at least $500,000.
