Made Kuti, a Nigerian singer and the nephew of embattled Afrobeat musician Seun Kuti, has addressed allegations that his family has abandoned his uncle.
Seun Kuti has been in police custody since Monday following an altercation with a police officer over the weekend.
However, a wave of trolls inundated the Instagram page of his brother, Femi Kuti, accusing him of not providing support to Seun.
Incensed by these claims, Made Kuti took to his own Instagram page and shared a photo of himself alongside his father at the court premises.
Made expressed his displeasure with resorting to social media to showcase or prove that their family is doing everything within their power to assist his uncle.
The singer also advised the social media trolls to recognize that life encompasses far more than what is observed through their phones.
He wrote: “At court yesterday, I don’t like that we have to post things on social media to show/prove we’re doing everything we can as a family. But here you go.
“Because of this many are cursing at us under my father’s last post, swearing at us for doing nothing. We just accept there’s much more to life than what we see on our phones”
