In Okumagba layout, Warri, Delta State, a man named Godstime Oke is said to have killed his friend and roommate Gaga Allia because of a N300 electricity bill.
Wednesday, December 14, 2022, around 10 p.m., something bad happened in their one-room apartment.
It was said that Oke and Allia got into a fight, and that Oke used a broken bottle to stab the dead woman in the neck.
Allia’s wound was so bad that she eventually died from bleeding to death.
After the crime, the suspect reportedly ran away to the Ugborikoko area, which is close to Warri. On Thursday, December 15, he was caught and turned over to the Nigerian Police Force ‘B’ Division.
Oke told the police that he was getting money for their compound because there was a problem with the lights in their neighborhood.
He said that the fight started when Gaga wouldn’t give back the N300 that a tenant had given him when he wasn’t there.
He said that his friend Tega, who was there when the two of them started fighting, broke a bottle and gave it to him, which he then used to stab Allia to death.
DSP Bright Edafe, a spokesman for the State Police Command, confirmed the incident and said that the alleged accomplice, Tega, was still being looked for.
