Nine people who are suspected of taking part in the attack on Atiku Abubakar’s (PDP) presidential campaign convoy in Borno state have been brought before the court by the police.
Abdul Umar, the commissioner of police for Borno State, told reporters on December 22 that there were 14 electoral violence perpetrators.
The All Progressive Congress (APC), the party in power, is backed by 12 of the 14 suspects, while the other two are followers of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Umar added:-
“Even though there was allegation that somebody died, till today we have not seen the corpse.”
The police commissioner also revealed that several steps have been taken to reduce thuggery in the state.
