In response to the exclusion of his nomination from the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Award (AMVCA), Nollywood actor Kunle Remi has expressed that he is unaffected by the situation and that it does not diminish his value as an actor. Despite his role as the lead actor in the movie “Anikulapo,” which received 16 nominations, Kunle himself did not make the list.
The film, directed and co-produced by Kunle Afolayan, featured notable actors such as Bimbo Ademoye, Sola Sobowale, Hakeem Kae-Kazim, Taiwo Hassan, Yinka Quadri, and Eyiyemi Afolayan, among others. While Bimbo, Yinka Quadri, Taiwo Hassan, and Sola Sobowale received nominations for their respective categories, Kunle Remi was not recognized.
Since the announcement of the nomination list, fans have criticized the AMVCA organizers, accusing them of deliberately excluding the actor.
