A tragic incident has shaken Delta State, Nigeria, where a young woman named Roseline lost her life in a horrifying manner.
Reportedly, she was forcibly pushed into a large pot of boiling fresh pepper and tomatoes by individuals identified as her friends.
The incident, which occurred during a catering job in Sapele, resulted in severe burns for Roseline.
Activist Comrade Israel Joe shared the heartbreaking news on his Facebook page, confirming Roseline’s passing after a valiant two-week battle for her life at a hospital in Warri.
Prior to her untimely demise, Roseline disclosed that there had been tensions among her friends, yet she still accompanied them for the catering assignment. Tragically, this decision led to the fatal altercation that claimed her life.
The activist passionately demands justice for the deceased, pledging to ensure the perpetrators are held accountable.
Rest in peace, dear Rozzy. Shockingly, she met her tragic end when her friend allegedly pushed her into a boiling pot of freshly ground pepper and tomatoes on Saturday, April 13th. Enduring excruciating pain for nearly two weeks, she succumbed to her injuries on Friday, April 26th.
Although Rozzy was laid to rest just four days ago, we cannot allow this heinous act to be brushed aside. It’s a chilling reminder of the sinister depths some friendships can reach.
In the neighborhood of Otokutu, Roseline’s alleged murder by those she lived with remained a secret. She was interred without a farewell or a single tribute poster to honor her memory. After merely two days in the morgue, the attendants hurried her burial.
As recounted by Rozzy herself, tensions brewed among her friends, yet she accompanied them to a catering job in Sapele. There, they conversed in their native language, leaving Rozzy, a Yoruba girl, unable to comprehend their discussions.
Suddenly, she found herself plunged into a large pot brimming with boiling fresh peppers and tomatoes. Rescue efforts were sluggish, and she was eventually rushed to Sage Hospital in Estate, Warri. Despite their efforts, my friend didn’t make it.
What truly grieves me is the nonchalant attitude of those responsible. These two girls continue to roam freely, showing no remorse for their actions. I detest any form of intimidation or oppression, particularly when directed towards non-indigenous individuals.
There has been no police report, no investigations, no arrests—nothing. The law reigns supreme; every citizen, regardless of origin, holds the full rights of citizenship. Indigene status should hold no sway; the authorities must apprehend the perpetrators and bring them to justice. Ultimately, it’s divine intervention for those lacking earthly assistance.
We must stand up for Rozzy. She cannot simply be taken away like a helpless creature and laid to rest without dignity. No one should meet such a tragic end. Our interactions were limited to Facebook chats, our schedules never aligning for a face-to-face meeting. Yet, when I finally saw you, it was in the most heartbreaking condition at Sage Hospital. We hoped for your recovery, but death claimed you. Justice must be served, even if it means reopening the grave.
#Justice4Rosy Rest peacefully, dear friend.
