“It is my turn,” said Tinubu, claiming that he will be the next president of Nigeria during the run-up to the APC presidential primary election.
Olusegun Obasanjo, the former president of Nigeria, has publicly criticized Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for saying “emi lokan,” which translates to “it’s my turn.”
Recall that Tinubu received harsh criticism from Nigerians after declaring repeatedly that it is his turn to lead the country as president.
Obasanjo said:
“Let me say straight away that ‘Emi Lokan’ (My turn) and ‘I have paid my dues’ are one and the same thing and are wrong attitude and mentality for the leadership of Nigeria now.”
“cannot form the new pedestal to reinvent and to invest in a new Nigeria based on an All-Nigeria Government for the liberation and restoration of Nigeria.”
Obasanjo stated that “the solution should be in ‘us’ and ‘us’ and not in’me’ and ‘I’,” saying that “no individual can claim he has the absolute solutions to Nigeria’s challenges.”
